Renegades Basketball Tryouts FAQs

Do you have to be at the tryouts both days?
  • It is not mandatory to be at both tryouts to make a team. But in an effort to get a fair
     and accurate evaluation, we do encourage players to attend both tryout dates.
  • If he or she cannot make one of the dates, it will not be held against the player.

• How many players are placed on a Renegades team?
  • We usually carry 10  players per team. Occasionally, our Renegade coaches might carry
     9 to 12 players.

• What is the time commitment?
  • The Spring season typically runs from March 1st to June 7th.
  • The Summer season typically runs from June 8th to August 15th.
  • The Fall season typically runs from August 16th to October 31st.

• When are the practices & tournaments?
  •  Practices will typically run once or twice a week starting from 5:00pm through 9:30pm.
  •  Practices are primarily held at the following locations (subject to change without notice):
      • College of San Mateo
      • Crocker Middle School
      • Serra High School
      • St. Timothy Catholic School
      • Notre Dame High School (Belmont)
      • Sequoia High School
  • Tournaments will be held on the weekends
      • Families will be responsible for their own travel expenses for out-of-town tournaments

• How much does it cost per player?
  • The Player fee will be determined once the team roster and team schedule is set. The total
     amount will vary, in some cases, based on the number of players on the team, number of
      tournaments, practices and other costs in which each team participates.
  • The Player Fee will not include the uniform package.
  • If a player makes a team, a Confirmation deposit of $400.00 is required in order to secure
     the player's spot on the team.
  • Player's Fees can be split up into 2-4 payments upon request and if the player is in good
     standing with the Renegades Basketball Club.

• What does the Player Fees cover for the Season?
  • The player's fee covers PER SEASON 5 tournament entry fees, practice times, team
     uniforms, AAU player registration, coach's fee, club administration and insurance cost.

• Are the Player Fees refundable?
  • The Player Fees are NOT refundable once payment has been made.
